Personal life:
Kumar Sangakkara born an attorney-at-law at Matale, Sri Lanka in 1977. His primary and secondary education was at Trinity College, Kandy. When Sangakkara was 22, then he made Test debut on 20 July 2000. He married his longtime partner, Yehali. And they have two child, a girl and a boy: Swyree and Kavith.

Captaincy:
In the year of 2009, Mahela Jayawardene announced that he would step down from captaincy, from that time Sangakkara as a Sri Lanka’s captain in all formats of the game.
